What difference should it make to your business whether you are happy or not?

I regularly see people in my coaching practice who are miserable and don’t know how to find happiness.  Many are looking forward at a time in the future they will be happy.  When they make the next sale – when they make a million dollars – when they retire.

As I work with these people they soon realise they don’t have to wait to be happy…they can actually be happy for no reason if they choose.

To be happy for no reason, I’ve learnt to…

  • Disregard the all or nothing thinking
  • Focus my light on the positive things in life
  • Eliminate the SHOULD statements

Did you know the vast majority of your thoughts are pure nonsense? You may be dwelling in a past that can’t be changed or obsessing about mistakes you haven’t made yet?  Constantly drifting into fantasy and negativity.

Author and sales coach, Tom Hopkins declared. “Being miserable is a habit; being happy is a habit; the choice is yours.”

Have you noticed that if your thoughts are lower, your emotions tend to be lower, your body feels off and your spirit is pulled down? I’ve discovered that improving the quality of my thoughts, improves the quality of my day, my life and my business.  Not easy some days but certainly worth the applying to create the results I desire.

I’ve also noticed a direct correlation between how I feel, what I’m thinking and how my business is flowing.  In my experience, when I’m feeling good, thinking positive thoughts, connected with others, I’m sleeping well, exercising regularly, hydrated and eating healthfully. My spirits are elevated.  In this state of being, I’ve found that it benefits my business. Because I am more likely to make that call, attend that networking event, follow my inspiration to showing up at exactly the right place at the right time.

I attract that new client, being fully confident that the business meeting will end up encouraging people to say yes, creating more and more serendipity to occur, and growing my business.

I’ve found that indicators that affect my overall state of inner being are a glimpse into what is happening in my outer life, personally, professionally and financially.   It takes discipline to notice and then to apply what I see as making new choices to raise my set-point. But the payoff is worth it.  Read More in my Book Good Girls Do Sell
