How did you fare in 2017?  Did it end up being the year you had planned?  Did you reach the goals you had set for yourself?

Did you even set goals?

Chatting to friends and colleagues, I find it really interesting as to the number of people I come across in business who don’t write their goals.  And I don’t just mean business goals but important life goals such as health, life and relationships.

When you Step out of your comfort zone and try something new, you acquire an ever-increasing
level of self-confidence to try even more things that may have caused anxiety in the past.

Forgive me, but I often ask my clients this question.

How do you know where you want to get to if you don’t have something to aim for?

So what are the benefits of setting goals?

  • Greater peace of mind
  • Clarity of purpose
  • Greater productivity
  • Greater personal growth
  • Increased confidence
  • Contribution to others
  • The advantages achieving goals brings in your life

I could go on…and probably will when it comes to convincing you to set goals but for now, I want to encourage you to start the year with a list of goals you want to achieve in 2018.  Goals you know will change the way you approach life and take your business to the next level.

You many have heard a comment like this from someone you know.  “I don’t need to invest in any more education because I been there, done that and I already know the stuff?”

Although I rarely find this attitude in entrepreneurs as most realise the consequences to their businesses of not continuing to grow, it is a common mindset in the corporate workplace.  You are the most important person in your business and you should never stop investing in yourself and setting goals that align with your authentic purpose.

Being aligned with your authentic purpose, means your goal, your focus point is true and represents your deepest values and natural strengths.  And that your actions consistently promote those goals.  An authentic purpose is what allows you to be exactly who you are – your authentic selves.  By being authentic and revealing your authentic self in business and in the sales process, you will be amazed at how easy selling becomes.  And just how fearless you become about cold-calling.  And how with the lack of anxiety around selling, you will improve your bottom line.  Read More in my Book Good Girls Do Sell
