If you have a service based business, at some time you have to face your prospects. Either with a phone call or face to face meeting, but you will need to make that first call.
The main problem I see that causes the greatest anxiety around cold-calling is the way most people go about it.
The main mistakes I see all the time are:
- Trying to make a sale instead of building a relationship
- Not understanding their prospects specific needs
- Not expecting success
A cold-call is only the first step.
It should NEVER be the time you try to make a sale.
Once my clients get this, their anxiety dissolves and they are able to take action.
